Philippine Time (PHT) is fixed at UTC+08:00 all year. The Philippines has not observed daylight saving time since 1978, apart from a brief trial in 1990. PHT shares its offset with China Standard Time, Hong Kong Time, Singapore Time, Malaysian Time and Australian Western Standard Time, which makes Manila a convenient bridge for scheduling across East and Southeast Asia. As one of the world's largest centres for business process outsourcing, Manila keeps overlapping hours with both Australia and, on early shifts, the United States, and its contact-centre schedules are usually planned around Manila local time.
